2659 RCAC Army Cadets Brantford
Welcome to the 2659 Army Cadet Corps
Commanding Officer: Captain Joshua Jenne CD
Create a lifelong experience that will stay with your child forever!
Cadets is one of the largest, and oldest, youth programs in Canada. Emphasizing outdoor adventures, Army Cadets offers youths (both male and female) between 12 and 18 years of age the opportunity to engage in exciting outdoor activities, traditional military events, and citizenship activities. Individuals who participate in the Cadet program develop a great sense of PRIDE and DISCIPLINE while honing their individual LEADERSHIP skills.
Army Cadets develop abilities in the use of map and compass, GPS technology, orienteering, first-aid, camping and survival skills, canoeing, abseiling, trekking, mountain biking, and other outdoor adventure skills. As they become more experiences, some Cadets will be selected for parachuting, white-water rafting, and glacier climbing, They will also learn to become outdoor LEADERS.
In addition to their specialty training, Army Cadets may become involved in other exciting activities like competitive Olympic-style marksmanship and biathlon, sports competitions, music training and competitions, cultural outings, volunteer community support, and additional fitness and citizenship activities.
The Cadet program is FREE TO JOIN! There is no cost to attend, and uniforms are provided on loan for members. Cadets also have opportunities to attend summer camps across Canada for 2 to 7 weeks each summer at no charge.
2659 Army Cadets accept NEW RECRUITS throughout the training year (September to June). We meet for regular training Tuesday evenings from 6:30-9:00 pm, outside of holidays.
